You're a sculptor.

And you have a vision for the most beautiful, perfect sculpture.

Or maybe you don't have the vision, but it's a feeling of great potential that just comes to you.

From somewhere.

So you start sculpting.

You start shaping your sculpture.

You chisel away unneeded pieces.

And your vision starts taking form.

Then, someone comes along and says, "Your sculpture isn't good. Who would like that?"

Do you give up out of shame and fear?

Or do you keep sculpting.

Someone else comes along and says, "Your sculpture would be better if the hands were in this position, not that one."

Do you immediately change your sculpture to fit their edits word-for-word?

Or do you keep sculpting.

Someone else comes a long and says, "Successful sculptors nowadays make sculptures of this, not that."

Do you throw away what you originally wanted to do, to chase someone else's definition of success?

Or do you keep sculpting.
